  • q What do I need to have with me when I come to rent a vehicle?
    A A current full drivers licence (excluding the paper counter part) held for a minimum of 24 months. Authorisation code from the DVLA (https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence) Deposit of £300 credit or debit card. Pre-authentication method. Two forms of identification showing your current address. For a charge of £9.99 we can carry out a DVLA Licence Check if you have lost your licence.
  • q Can I drive a truck with a car licence?
    A The DVLA rules vary, depending upon when you passed your driving test.

    Drivers who passed their test before the 1st January 1997 normally have entitlement to drive vehicles between 3.5 tonnes and 7.5 tonnes GVW.

    Drivers who passed their test after the 1st January 1997 will only have entitlement to drive a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes GVW, which typically will be a standard Mercedes Sprinter.

  • q How old do I have to be?
    A You can be any age as long as you can find your own insurance. For our insurance you do have to be 25 years old. Drivers who passed their test before the 1st January 1997 normally have entitlement to drive vehicles between 3.5 tonnes and 7.5 tonnes GVW.   • q How much is the deposit?
    A If you provide a debit card we require a deposit of £300.00 for any type of vehicle.
  • q What is the deposit for?
    A The deposit covers part of the cost of insurance excess in the event that the vehicle sustains damage whilst in your care, and any other costs arising from the rental, such as fuel replenishment. The insurance excess will increase to a maximum of £1,000 depending on the amount of damage to the vehicle.
  • q What about the fuel and supply costs?
    A You have to pay for the fuel that you use. We supply the vehicle with a minium of a quarter tank of fuel, and you should return it with the same amount in the tank. If you do not, then we shall put fuel into the vehicle upon return to the quarter tank level, and subtract the cost from your deposit.
  • q How do I get an account?
    A For preferential rates on spot hires please download the Credit Application Form on the About Us section. (http://www.rossettsrental.co.uk/mercedes-benz/about_us/forms) You will need to supply two forms of proof of address.
  • q What about insurance?
    A We recommend that you source your own insurance, you must have a Commercial Policy in place. We shall require proof of Insurance.
  • q What if I want to take the vehicle out of the UK?
    A To take the Hire Vehicle out of the UK you must have at least 3 days hire and you are required to sort insurance yourself. Insurance of the vehicle must include repatriation to the UK in the event of any incident. Rossetts Rentals Insurance will not cover European use.
  • q What if I am late returning the vehicle, or wish to extend the period of hire?
    A Please contact us to let us know the vehicle will be returning to the depot after the time agreed. We can extend the period of hire and charge you at the agreed daily rate. The extension of your insurance is your own responsibility. Rossetts Rentals office hours are 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday and 8:30 – 12:00 Saturday. There is a key drop off facility if needed.
  • q What happens if I break down?
